There are few better locations for a farm house home than the valleys local to Jalon and Alcalali. Although the location is perfect, it is rare to find a property of this genre suitable for conversion to a comfortable home without the need for considerable investment to address problems associated with damp and poor insulation.
This project provided the opportunity to build a beautiful and substantial farm house property which, although of new construction, was designed to incorporate typical features including the riu rau (arched covered terrace), ceilings with exposed brick arches and wooden beams.
The result was a traditional home that blends seamlessly into its rural setting and sits comfortably in the valleys of almond blossom and a landscape dotted with typical Spanish villages.
In total 250M2 accommodation on a 10.000m2 plot comprising 4 Bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and music room.
Due to its location on a level flat plain, careful consideration was given to the efficient evacuation of water flooding from the surrounding land. Subterranean drains were installed around the property to ensure against problems at any time in the future.
